On Friday 20 March 2015, Healthwatch Wandsworth was invited by the Baked Bean Theatre Company to their play called ‘Healthwise’.
This play is part of their ‘Training the Professional’ series, which will teach health professionals, like doctors and nurses, how to work with people with learning disabilities.
Healthwatch used the play to learn about some of the problems that people with learning disabilities face.
Here are just some of the messages we got from the play on what people with learning disabilities feel:
This was a very fun and special way of learning for Healthwatch. We will be taking what we have learned to the many big meetings we go to and are part of.
Most importantly, we will be making sure that what we have learned is spoken about when health and social care services are planning services for people with physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
Do you have a good or bad story about a health or social care service you have used?Healthwatch wants to hear it!
You can share your story on our website at: http://www.healthwatchwandsworth.co.uk/speak-out/have-your-say
