Action Space supports artists with learning disabilities providing studio based art groups for those with an interest in making art. We are both members of the Action Space Young Peoples Saturday Group and would like to share a little bit about what we do.
I do a variety of work at Action Space, printing, stop motion animation, painting, drawing and making models. I vary the themes of my work, before I was working on with models and stop motion based on a trip to France. At the moment I am drawing large maps of the local area using the other head projector and oil pastels.
I just like doing art and the social aspect of people offering you suggests for your work. I have been with Action Space for years, as they used to do children’s groups. I also volunteer for the Friday group, which has no age limit. This year I will be working towards my silver arts award.
I love public transport and I have designed an underground map but my own version. I am using the maps to make an animation with a train travelling on the map and each line will have its own song.
Coming to Action Space is a lot of fun and something I like doing on Saturdays. I like going out and meeting people and seeing my friends at Action Space. I just love it there.
