It was a cold spring morning and some of the talented performers from Act Too were up before the sun had risen!
In March this year some of the Service Users and the staff at Act Too were up at 5am as they began their journey to the set of the new Tom Hooper film, Les Misreables. It was an exciting day. The group arrived in the early hours and were treated to a full English breakfast and a very welcome cup of tea.
Then it was time to go to hair, make up and costume. This took quite some time as all the stars in the film needed to look like they were really from the 19th Century.
Once everyone was ready they were asked to go on set to begin the filming. The performers were amongst the stars and once everyone was in place the director Tom Cooper shouted “ACTION!”
“It was a busy scene with people and horses running around, the atmosphere was amazing!” Jo Morrison.
Peter Cranham loved the experience saying “It was an amazing day, i really enjoyed it”!
Tomislav Pavlinic felt really lucky to be part of the experience and he said “I hope to do more filming in the future”.
It was a long four days of filming and everyone was exhausted afterwards but it was an amazing opportunity. The group were even lucky enough to talk to Russell Crowe in-between the takes. On the film day the director shouted “CUT” and then everyone knew they had finished and could go home.
Everyone is excited about seeing the film and having the chance of seeing themselves on the big screen next year.
Les Miserables comes out in January 2013.
